Amanda Hope Internship Program

Summary

Amanda Hope Interns will support Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels’ mission to bring dignity and comfort into the harsh world of childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. This internship will ensure Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels’ meaningful and immediate response to needs of the organization in order to support our families in the most effective and impactful way. 

Amanda Hope Interns support our mission and are important members of our team! The internship is an opportunity for our nonprofit to support you by creating opportunities to learn new skills and receive valuable real-world job experience - all while making a difference in your community!

Internship Programs and Various Included Responsibilities

  • Event Planning: This internship will focus on building event planning experience as the intern works alongside our Events Coordinator, Mindfulness Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator. You will assist with event planning and organizing from conception to completion.

  • Hospital Relations: This internship will focus on building outreach skills as the intern works with our Comfycozy Coordinator. You will help to identify and reach where there are needs for Comfycozys in the community, around the country and throughout the world.

  • Donor Development: This internship will focus on building fundraising and non-profit relationship experience as the intern works alongside our development team. You will, by the end of the semester, be able to solo-plan and manage a fundraising opportunity.

  • Marketing: Increasing engagement with the community and strengthening bonds with families through many marketing channels including social media, email marketing, and more!

General Responsibilities

  • Work directly with an Amanda Hope team member to complete or assist with projects related to your internship program

  • Participate in monthly staff meetings to provide feedback and updates

  • Complete reviews and check-ins with the Community and Office Coordinator to accurately track progress and impact of your internship program

Education

High school or undergraduate degree in nonprofit management, business, health or other related studies completed or in progress

Skills

  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work in a team and good interpersonal skills

  • Ability to apply sound judgment and make decisions

  • Ability to connect and engage with families and supporters

  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and organize effectively and under pressure 

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • Amanda Hope Internship must fulfill a college credit or required hours

Please note: Interns will not be compensated and the internship is conducted without entitlement to a paid job at the conclusion of the internship.
