A legacy gift is a gift to charity made through your Will or Trust. Your legacy gift allows us to continue our mission to bring dignity and comfort into the harsh world of childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

Your Will or Trust allows you the peace of mind of knowing your estate is in order, and your wishes are clear to your family and other beneficiaries. By including a gift to Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels, you will live with the satisfaction of knowing you will make a difference in the world even after you are gone.

Here are a few thoughts about how to leave your legacy:

Charitable Bequests

The simple charitable bequest is an easy way to make a gift that creates a legacy. Your Will or Trust specifies a dollar amount, percentage of your estate or a specific asset to be given to Amanda Hope at your death.

Types of General Bequests and Language for Your Bequests

Your estate planning attorney can advise you on how to give to Amanda Hope. In addition, we recommend your bequest to Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels use the following language:

  • Gift of a specified dollar amount: I hereby give, devise and bequeath $______ to Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels, located at 340 E. Coronado Rd. Suite 100, Phoenix, AZ 85004, EIN 46-2522889, to be used for its general charitable purposes.

  • Gift of a percentage of your estate: I hereby give, devise and bequeath ___% of my total estate to Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels, located at 340 E. Coronado Rd. Suite 100, Phoenix, AZ 85004, EIN 46-2522889, to be used for its general charitable purposes.

  • Gift of specific property: The gift of specific property can be anything from vehicles and other personal property, to mutual funds, stocks, bonds and real estate. Please call or email our gifting coordinator, ______, phone, email, to coordinate the gift of specific property in your Will or Trust. I hereby give, devise and bequeath [__Description of Property___] to Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels, located at 340 E. Coronado Rd. Suite 100, Phoenix, AZ 85004, EIN 46-2522889, to be used for its general charitable purposes.

  • Restricted Bequests For Specific Program or Purpose: You may want to leave a gift for a specific purpose or program. We love these gifts too! We can work with your attorney to craft the language needed to assure your gift is used the way you wish. We also suggest that you include the following language to allow Amanda Hope to use the gift in another if it is not possible to honor your specific wishes: If it is not possible for Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels to accomplish the specific purposes of this gift, in the judgment of its Board of Directors, Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels may use this gift for the purposes the Board of Directors determines most closely meets the purposes I intended for this gift, or, if none, for its general charitable purposes.

Beneficiary Designations

You can also leave money and other assets to Amanda Hope by way of a beneficiary designation on an account or fund. Here are a couple of types of beneficiary designation gifts:

  • A Gift of Your Retirement Funds: Amanda Hope can be the beneficiary of your IRAs, 401(k)s and other retirement plans. An advantage of naming a charity such as Amanda Hope as a beneficiary of a pre-tax retirement account is tax savings. Amanda Hope will not pay taxes when the retirement benefits are distributed to the organization, meaning that 100% of the gift of the retirement account to our organization will be used to carry out our mission.

  • A Gift of Money in Your Investment, brokerage, bank accounts or CD: You can make Amanda Hope the beneficiary on financial accounts. It is possible to name a payable on death beneficiary for bank accounts and CDs and transfer on death beneficiaries on your brokerage accounts. At your death, the beneficiary receives the funds remaining in the account.
